Job Description
- As a Weld Body Shop Manager, your role involves planning and managing a team of 45-50 workmen and 5-6 supervisors. You will be responsible for process improvement by analyzing issues and implementing countermeasures to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Your key responsibilities include administrative control of the team, manpower management, training, and skill upgradation. Additionally, you will be accountable for achieving production and quality targets, as well as implementing efficiency analysis and continuous improvement (KAIZEN) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage workmen and supervisors in the weld body shop
- Analyze issues and implement countermeasures for safety, quality, and productivity improvement
- Administer team, manage manpower, and provide training for skill upgradation
- Achieve production and quality targets, and recover losses
- Hands-on experience in line operations, part loading sequence, and line data management
- Conduct training for new supervisors and workmen
- Analyze defects and implement countermeasures
- Achieve safety, production, and quality cost targets
- Plan for emergency situations and loss recovery
- Optimize direct and indirect consumables consumption
Qualification Required:
- Diploma in a relevant field
In addition to the above responsibilities, you should possess the following competencies and skills:
Functional/Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of welding jigs, safety checks, and quality checks
- Proficiency in spot welding process and parameter control
- Familiarity with robot teaching and programming (Fanuc and Kawasaki robots)
- Understanding of quality systems for maintaining weld body quality
- Knowledge of body accuracy analysis and fit and finish
- Expertise in door line and white body line processes, including hemming and sealer application
- Experience in efficiency analysis and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with line operations, part loading sequence, and line data management
- Customer-oriented attitude and team-building skills
