SAP ABAP Consultant

Role & responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance ABAP reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and data migration programs across SAP modules (MM, SD, FICO, WM, etc.).
  
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ABAP programs, optimizing for efficiency and scalability.
  
• Develop and maintain SAP interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and other integration technologies to connect SAP with third-party systems.
  
• Implement user exits, BADIs (Business Add-Ins), and enhancements to meet business needs without modifying standard SAP code.
  
• Design and develop ALV (ABAP List Viewer) reports with intuitive interfaces for seamless data presentation.
  
• 
  Create and modify SAP Smart Forms and SAP script for print forms such as invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes.
  
• Troubleshoot, debug, and support existing ABAP code to ensure smooth operation of SAP applications.
  
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specs, implementation guides, and user manuals.
  
• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  
• Participate in project planning, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing SAP applications, implementing minor enhancements as needed.
  

Preferred candidate profile :

• Minimum 2+years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience with successful project deliveries across industries.

• Strong expertise in ABAP programming, including SAPscript, Smart Forms, BAPIs, BADIs, and ALV reporting.
  
• Proficient in SAP integration technologies such as IDocs, RFC, BAPI, file-based interfaces, and Web Services.
  
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of ABAP code.
  
• Knowledge of SAP Fiori and UI5 is a plus.
  
• Exposure to SAP modules such as SD, MM, FICO, WM, PP, or HR.
  
• Familiarity with SAP development tools: SE80, SE11, SE37, SE93, and related transaction codes.
  
• Knowledge or exposure to SAP HANA and SAP S/4HANA development environments and modern ABAP programming (e.g., ABAP for HANA, CDS views, AMDP) is an advantage.
  
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in SAP ABAP programs.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including functional consultants and project managers.
