Som Distilleries - Head - Legal Compliance

Seeking a seasoned CLO / Legal Head to spearhead the legal and compliance function for a prominent player in the alco-beverages sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the legal strategy, governance, and compliance framework across all business verticals.
- Provide legal counsel to the CEO on operational, policy, and regulatory aspects.
- Manage company representation in litigation, excise, and taxation matters before diverse authorities and courts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MoUs, NDAs, and supply agreements.

- Ensure compliance with Excise, VAT, GST, and corporate laws pertinent to the alco-beverages industry.
- Mentor the in-house legal team, offering guidance, oversight, and professional development.
- Collaborate with government departments, legal counsels, and regulatory bodies to protect company interests.
- Supervise external legal advisors and streamline dispute resolutions.
- Develop internal legal policies, SOPs, and training modules to enhance compliance culture.
Desired Profile:
- Minimum 20 years of progressive legal experience, with leadership background.
- Proficiency in litigation and regulatory compliance.
- Deep understanding of excise laws, taxation frameworks, and business laws in alco-beverages or related regulated sectors.
- Strong skills in drafting, negotiation, and communication.
- Strategic mindset for effective collaboration with leadership teams.
