As a Hotel Information Technology (IT) Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all IT systems within our hotel establishment. Your role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting IT issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and implementing new technologies to enhance our guests experiences and streamline internal operations. You will collaborate with various departments to understand their technological needs and implement solutions accordingly. Additionally, you will oversee data security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical support to hotel staff and guests for all IT-related matters, including hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networks, and peripheral devices.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Manage and maintain the hotels database systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Collaborate with vendors and IT service providers to procure necessary equipment and services.
- Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime.
- Develop and update IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Train hotel staff on proper use of IT systems and software applications.
- Research and recommend new technologies to improve operational efficiency and enhance guest experiences.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in the field of hospitality technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in IT support roles, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and telecommunications systems.
- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

- Familiarity with database management systems, such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with hotel staff and guests.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Possess expertise and assume responsibility for the Audio/Visual system.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.
