Microchips Data Center Solutions Business Unit (DCS) offers industry leading performance, reliability, and security for Storage Controllers, PCIe Switches, NVME Controllers and smart attached memory. We are seeking an experienced and visionary DCS Design Director to lead our design and verification development teams in Bangalore. Looking for a leader who can foster and grow an existing team. The successful candidate will drive the architecture, design, and verification of advanced silicon solutions, including PCIe switches, Retimers, flash controllers, CXL controllers, and SAS controller. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strong management skills, and a passion for innovation in high-performance connectivity solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage design and verification teams responsible for PCIe switches, Retimers, CXL controllers, and SAS controller silicon.
• Work across cross geos to meet TTM goals.
• Define architecture and design strategies for next-generation connectivity products, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals.
• Oversee all phases of silicon development, including specification, RTL design, verification, synthesis, timing closure, and tape-out.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, firmware, validation, product management) to deliver high-quality, robust silicon solutions.
• Drive technical innovation and best practices in design methodologies, verification flows, and tool adoption.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and deliverables to meet aggressive timelines and quality standards.
• Interface with customers and partners to understand requirements and ensure successful product delivery.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, standards (PCIe, CXL, SAS), and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in silicon design and verification, with a proven track record in leading teams and delivering complex SoC/ASIC products.
• Deep technical expertise in PCIe, CXL, SAS protocols, and high-speed connectivity architectures.

  Get Hired
  Hands-on experience with RTL design (Verilog/VHDL), verification (SystemVerilog/UVM), synthesis, and timing analysis.
• Strong understanding of silicon development lifecycle, EDA tools, and tape-out processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with retimer and switch architectures.
• Familiarity with security, power management, and reliability features in connectivity silicon.
• Prior experience interfacing with customers and driving technical discussions.
• Having worked in multinational companies and having experience in North America
