Accountant

MMA Advisors is seeking an experienced Accountant (5+ years) based in India to support our finance operations. This role requires strong hands-on capability across payroll support, bank reconciliations, consolidation, and month-end close, with a consistent focus on accuracy, deadlines, and control.

Key responsibilities

• Support payroll processing (inputs, checks, reconciliations, and related reporting)
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve variances
• Assist with consolidation activities, including intercompany reconciliations and supporting schedules

  month-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, and reporting packs
• Maintain ledger accuracy across AP/AR, allocations, and account analysis
• Prepare and maintain working papers for audit/compliance and internal controls
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, templates, and controls

Requirements

• 3+ years accounting experience (industry or practice)
• Strong experience with bank reconciliations and month-end routines; exposure to consolidation preferred
• Solid Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation models)
• Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, NetSuite, or similar)
• High attention to detail, strong ownership, and clear communication in a remote environment
