ESG Production Analyst

Your team responsibilities

MSCI Production Shared Services team is responsible for generation and delivery of MSCI Products and is seeking to expand its Production Shared Services (PSS) team for ESG. The PSS specialist will be responsible for supporting the transformation of our ESG Data delivery Infrastructure through project fulfilments, aligning services & driving necessary investments in quality and delivery workflows with the objective of moving towards the end state vision.

With the team’s consistent drive to innovate and leverage technology, the PSS team is looking for a dedicated Operations Technical analyst who would lead and provide support on enhancement projects, including but not limited to automation and workflow streamlining projects. Other mandate includes applying data science techniques for data quality assurance and control, automation of data diagnostics, feasibility study for implementing system infrastructure projects, specifications development, testing, etc.

Your key responsibilities

• Develop business understanding of data and brainstorm on developing data metrics to quantify coverage, quality and stability for existing or new data


• Do exploratory work to identify patterns in data and derive meaningful information to drive business intelligence by analyzing voluminous amounts of data


• Automation of data quality diagnostics by developing a new system/tool which will enable quality assessment of data without manual intervention


• Evaluate internal data and processes to gain better understanding of the data structures


• 
  Coordinate changes to the production process required for new product offerings or existing product enhancements.


• Summarize results and provide recommendations through concise marketing materials in presentations, conference calls.


• Develop standardized templates and build documentation on product deliverables, internal services agreements etc


• Understanding of IT systems, databases and experience of working large data sets.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

• You have strong expertise in business intelligence, quantitative finance and descriptive statistics


• Application of statistical methods in analyzing data. PYTHON, R would be good to have (python preferred)


• Good to have: Practical understanding and application of data science and machine learning techniques Appreciation for new trends in technology like Machine Learning/NLP is a plus and willing to learn to use it in practice


• Have strong interest in Finance – work experience in finance and /or capital markets with knowledge in providers of financial data products (Reuters, Interactive Data, Factset etc.)


• Have inclination to work on large data sets and come up with creative solutions on data mining


• Good communication skills (written and oral) and proficiency in creating presentations.


• An independent worker who can drive certain parts of the work with minimal oversight
