Major roles and responsibilities
Patient Assessment
Evaluate patient history and physical condition.
Perform diagnostic tests and physical examinations.
Identify movement dysfunction and pain sources.
Treatment Planning
Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis and patient goals.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, occupational therapists).
Apply therapeutic techniques including:
Manual therapy (e.g., joint mobilization)
Exercise programs (strengthening, stretching, balance training)
Electrotherapy (e.g., TENS, ultrasound)
Hydrotherapy or other modalities
Educate patients on exercises and body mechanics.
Rehabilitation
Assist in the recovery process after surgeries, injuries, or neurological conditions.
Improve mobility, strength, endurance, and function.
Health Promotion & Injury Prevention
Advise on posture, ergonomics, and lifestyle changes.
Design workplace or community programs to reduce injury risk.
Documentation & Record Keeping
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Education & Counseling
Teach patients about their conditions and self-management.

Stay updated with the latest research and techniques.
Attend continuing education courses and workshops.
Administrative Responsibilities
Manage schedules, billing, and documentation.
Participate in audits, reporting, and departmental planning.

Contribute to or utilize research to improve treatment outcomes.
Implement evidence-based interventions.
