The Role
As a Infrastructure Engineer_Desktop Support at Kyndryl, youll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. Youll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.
Theres never a typical day as a Infrastructure Engineer_Desktop Support at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. Youll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. Youll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

You will be responsible for System Integration & Configuration: Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate desktop systems into the broader IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, cloud services, and enterprise applications. Responsible for Security & Compliance: Ensure desktop systems are secure, compliant with organizational policies, and meet industry standards for endpoint protection encryption and access control. Responsible for Documentation & Reporting: Document the design, configuration, and deployment processes of desktop systems & ensure that post-project reviews and technical documentation are created and maintained for future reference.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• 5+ years of experience in desktop infrastructure, system administration, or IT engineering.
• Expertise in administering Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop systems.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Citrix).
• Familiarity with desktop management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF, SALT, SOTI or similar).
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and cloud services (e.g., Azure).
• Experience with security best practices, endpoint protection, and compliance frameworks.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize desktop systems, including workstations, virtual desktops (VDI) and related infrastructure solutions. Ensure solutions are implemented per project specifications, meeting performance and security requirements.
• Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline system imaging, software deployment, and patch management for desktop systems.
• Experience in System Upgrades & Migrations: Lead the technical aspects of OS upgrades, hardware replacements, and platform migrations & Work closely with other teams to plan and execute seamless transitions with minimal disruption to operations.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional.
• Experience with desktop virtualization platforms (e.g., Citrix).
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for system automation.
• Bachelors Degree.
