Position - General Manager – Procurement | Location - Kashipur (Uttarakhand)
Naini Papers Limited is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager – Procurement to lead and transform its end-to-end procurement function. This role is critical in ensuring the strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and uninterrupted availability of raw materials, chemicals, engineering spares, CAPEX items, and services required for seamless plant operations.
The incumbent will be responsible for driving procurement excellence, supplier partnerships, risk mitigation, and digital transformation, while aligning procurement strategies with the organizations sustainability and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Procurement & Supply Assurance
- Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies aligned with business goals and production plans
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of fibrous raw materials, wastepaper, chemicals, fuels, and consumables
- Drive demand planning, inventory optimization, and supply continuity to support operational efficiency
2. CAPEX & Engineering Procurement
- Lead procurement for CAPEX projects, including vendor identification, techno-commercial evaluation, and contract finalization
- Ensure timely sourcing of engineering spares, critical equipment, and Maintenance, Repair, Operations items (MRO) to minimize plant downtime
3. Vendor Development & Contract Management
- Establish and strengthen a robust vendor ecosystem
- Develop Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs), long-term agreements (LTAs), and strategic alliances
- Drive supplier performance management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
4. Cost Optimization & Value Creation
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternate materials, and negotiation excellence
- Monitor market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and logistics costs to optimize procurement spend
- Ensure effective scrap monetization and by-product value realization
5. Digitization & Process Excellence
- Leverage SAP (MM module) and digital procurement tools for process automation, analytics, and decision-making
- Implement best-in-class procurement practices, including e-sourcing, e-auctions, and data-driven insights
6. Risk Management & Compliance
- Develop robust supply chain risk mitigation strategies to address disruptions, price volatility, and supply constraints
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and sustainability standards (FSC etc.)

Qualifications
- Postgraduate/MBA in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline
Experience
- 20+ years of progressive experience in procurement.
- Proven leadership experience in end-to-end procurement management
- Strong preference for candidates from the Pulp & Paper, Packaging / Process Manufacturing Industry
