Job Description


Account Manager.Sales -M/DTotco


This is a customer facing mid-level position based in Mumbai and responsible for M/DTotco-India Sales and Marketing.


Manage all aspects of engagements with existing and new customers. To build relationships and understand customer business to provide appropriate products or solutions. To define sales and growth strategy toward key customers while aligning with critical sales business objectives. To identify opportunities and build credibility with customers. Utilize product knowledge to deliver the value proposition to the customers.


Primary Responsibilities



  • Under broad direction of local sales team, utilizes subject matter expertise and established client relationships to sell Company products and services and achieve maximum profitability and market penetration/share.

  • Demonstrate a strong skill set in providing customer solution sales by uncovering customer pain points and providing a solution to manage or eliminate those pain points.

  • Build and establish relationships with key decision-makers to develop strategies designed to help customers meet their high-level goals and solve customer challenges.

  • Be a team player and always work toward the best possible result for NOV as a company.

  • Service and grow existing customers of NOV.

  • Expand NOV’s customer base – responsible for bringing in new business for NOV – M/D Totco Division India.

  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.


Major Tasks:




  • Promote the growth of M/D Totco capabilities in India with NOVs existing customers base and new customers.


  • Understand the customer’s industry drivers, business objectives, and organization so that effective growth / maintain / manage strategies are developed which will underpin the value that NOV brings to the customer to drive to real business outcomes.


  • Responsible for revenue and profitability targets for capital equipment/ spares parts sales to designated customers and products.


  • Contribute to develop commercial and marketing strategy for maintaining and growing the market share with specific customer/product account portfolio at assigned.


  • Identify new sales opportunities and focus on providing consultative support by building value propositions for the customer.


  • Establish oneself as a focal point for relationship strategies, account and sales plans, proposal strategies and contract negotiations.


  • Participate in Industry specific IADC/SPE meetings and conferences


  • Develop market for new products and technologies predominantly with specific customer/products account portfolio.


  • Aggressively pursue new opportunities to secure sales/rental business within the region.


  • Drives sales campaign and strategic/growth initiatives Plan for account growth in the long term


  • Maintain excellent professional relationship with peers in other NOV locations worldwide.


  • Maintain regular contact with the customer at all levels to ensure high standard of relationship.

  • Participate in technical and management trainings as required for professional development.


  • Participate and contribute in NOV management meetings, financial planning and forecast.


  • Regular submission of activity report according to directions given by the Manager


  • Any other functions that the Management may feel necessary from time to time.




Qualification & Requirements:


Technical degree with 5-7 years of professional experience of which at least last 5 years should be in Oil and Gas/ Energy Industry.


MBA in Sales or Marketing preferred.


Minimum 2 years of Sales account management required.


Experience in MWD/LWD, Drill Bits or Wireline logging sales experience a plus.


Demonstrated experience in customer engagement at senior levels and building long-term strategic and executive relationships.


Should have Strong Communication skills.


Should have good presentation skills, Strategic thinking, presentation building skills & command of English language.


Problem solver with an attention to detail.
