Job Description
At NIQ, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Income Tax Accounting Manager to join our Finance Operations Center. As a vital part of our finance team, the Income Tax Accounting Manager will ensure the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness in our global income tax operations center, adhering to stringent service level agreements with various internal stakeholders. Directly reporting to the Income Tax Service Leader in our Finance Operations Center, this role offers the opportunity to engage with complex global tax processes and support global tax initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Provision & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (or IFRS equivalent), including current and deferred tax calculations.
- Analyze effective tax rate (ETR) and deferred tax balances.
- Work closely with external auditors and provide audit support for tax-related matters.
- Preparing tax projections and ensure accurate tax balances on the general ledger.
- Preparing and analyzing tax-related statements and reports, including income tax provisions into OneSource
Tax Accounting Entries
- Review tax-related accounting entries, including provision, payments, true-ups, and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of income tax expense, liabilities, and deferred tax assets/liabilities
Tax Cash Forecasting
- Support in the global tax cash forecasting process, including income tax payments, refunds.
- Collaborate with Treasury and FP&A teams to align tax forecasts with broader cash flow planning.
- Analyze variances between actuals and forecast, and provide actionable insights.
Global Tax Reporting
- Coordinate and manage global tax reporting requirements, including local GAAP to US GAAP adjustments
- Ensure compliance with internal controls over tax reporting (e.g., SOX controls).
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on service level agreements and tax-related responsibilities.
Reporting: Report directly to the Income Tax Leader, providing regular updates and insights regarding tax positions and strategies.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification in taxation or accounting (e.g., CPA, CTA, CMA) is required.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in income tax accounting, preferably within a multinational corporation or accounting firm, with minimum 3 years in people management roles
- Technical Skills: Proficient with tax software and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Proficiency with US GAAP tax provision (ASC 740)
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing complex tax issues and compliance strategies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively manage relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work
