Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

EMEA CFS Overview:

EMEA Client Financing & Solutions (CFS) is a fully-integrated, global business across Investment Banking and Global Markets and offers bespoke solutions for financing, hedging and yield enhancement. The core product suite includes:

Debt Capital Markets (DCM): Originate and execute both public debt transactions & private placements for Financial Institutions, Corporates, Supranationals, Public Sector Agencies and

Sovereigns

Acquisition and Leveraged Finance (ALF): Arrange financing for leveraged buyouts, corporate acquisitions along with on-going refinancing needs using a variety of debt products like leveraged loans, mezzanine loans, high yield bonds and debt & rating advisory services

Structured Finance: Tailor-made debt financing solutions supporting clients through a variety of financing situations with speciality across receivables, infrastructure and special situations

Real Estate and Securitised Products: Innovative bespoke client solutions linked to a broad array of underlying asset portfolios such as real estate, non-performing loans, asset-backed securities and specialty finance

Business Unit Overview:

Investment Banking Powai team is an extension of the regional Investment Banking (Front Office) teams supporting the following key areas:

• M&A
• Coverage / Sector Banking
  
• Client Financing & Solutions (CFS)

This COO team sits within the Investment Banking Support team and the division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy.

Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

This particular role is within the COO/ Business Management team. The IBD COOs play a strategic role in delivering the Investment Banking business agenda. They work closely with the regional IBD COO team to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

• Good Knowledge and Interest of Investment Banking products and products (M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Acquisition Leveraged Finance, Equity Solutions, Structured Financing, Macro Risk Solutions)
• Good understanding of the investment banking processes including understanding business performance
• Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, senior management reporting, situational
• Prior experience of driving initiatives in the banking / capital markets space
•  Is entrepreneurial and independent; a self-starter, takes ownership, exhibits integrity, initiative, strong motivation and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure
•  Strong MS Power-point, Excel and Word skills
• Ambition and enthusiasm to succeed in this challenging role
• Prior experience in strategy roles would be an added advantage
