IBM APIC / Apigee Support Engineer

About the Role:

This India-based engineer supports both the IBM APIC/DataPower sustainment effort and the Apigee platform buildout on non-GovCloud workstreams. The primary focus is documentation, runbook authoring, scripting and automation, and developer portal support. You will work under the direction of the US-based IBM APIC SME and Apigee Architect, handling tasks that do not require access to GovCloud or classified environments.

Key Responsibilities:

IBM APIC Support (Non-GovCloud)

• Author and maintain IBM operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and on-call procedures

• Scripting and automation for IBM platform enhancements (under US SME direction)

• CI/CD pipeline support for IBM APIC configuration artifacts

• Assist with IBM-to-Apigee policy mapping documentation

• Support developer portal customization and API catalog management on non-GovCloud environments

• Develop and maintain automation scripts for Apigee operational tasks

• Assist Apigee Developer with proxy testing and integration test case documentation

• Maintain CI/CD pipeline documentation and deployment guides

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Produce and maintain all SOW documentation deliverables: runbooks, playbooks, procedure guides

• Maintain the knowledge article library in the clients ITSM platform

• Create and update architecture decision logs and configuration baseline documents

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years in an API platform support, development, or operations role

• Familiarity with IBM APIC or DataPower (hands-on exposure, not necessarily deep SME)

• Apigee or equivalent API gateway development/support experience

• Strong technical writing skills — runbooks and knowledge articles are a primary deliverable

• Scripting experience: Python, Bash, or JavaScript

• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent

• Strong English written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• IBM APIC administration experience

• Google Apigee API Engineer certification or equivalent

• Experience writing technical documentation for enterprise IT platforms

• ITSM platform experience: ServiceNow or equivalent
