We are looking for an experienced Aruba Networking Product Owner to lead the design, delivery, and lifecycle management of our enterprise wired, wireless, and network access control (ClearPass) services.
This is a critical role in shaping the way our users, devices, and applications securely connect across a global, hybrid enterprise environment.
As the Aruba Networking Product Owner, you will define the strategy and roadmap, serve as the subject matter expert for Aruba technologies, and ensure services meet business, security, and operational needs.
You will work closely with engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to enable reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Ownership & Strategy:
- Define and maintain the roadmap for wired, wireless, and NAC services based on Aruba networking solutions.
- Act as the subject matter expert and service owner for Aruba campus and branch networking.
- Translate business and security requirements into clear capabilities and priorities.
- Ensure services align with enterprise architecture, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Design & Delivery:
- Lead the design, deployment, and optimisation of Aruba wired LAN, wireless LAN (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7), and ClearPass NAC solutions.
- Manage end-to-end life-cycle of Aruba solutions, including hardware refresh, software upgrades, and feature adoption.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across the global campus and branch network environment.
- Drive adoption of automation and network management tools (Aruba Central, AirWave) for efficient operations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with security teams to define access control policies and ensure consistent enforcement across wired and wireless networks.
- Work with business stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences for employees, guests, and IoT devices.
- Provide clear requirements and priorities to engineering and operations teams using agile practices.
- Communicate product roadmap, progress, risks, and KPIs to IT leadership and stakeholders.
Operations & Governance:
- Define and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and service metrics for Aruba networking services.
- Establish governance for NAC policies, guest access, and onboarding processes.
- Ensure proactive monitoring, incident response, and vendor escalation processes are in place.
- Maintain vendor relationships with Aruba/HPE and manage service contracts.
COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB:
Technical Depth & Breadth:
- Requires deep expertise in Aruba wired LAN, wireless LAN (Wi-Fi 6/6E), and ClearPass NAC, including design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Balances performance, reliability, scalability, and security across enterprise and multi-site networks.
- Involves integration with hybrid cloud, SD-WAN, and other network technologies.
- Knowledge of network automation, monitoring, and management tools (Aruba Central, AirWave, APIs) is critical.
Business & Security Criticality:
- Wired and wireless networks are foundational services; any downtime or misconfiguration can impact productivity globally.
- Responsible for secure access control, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance, directly affecting enterprise security posture.
- Decisions impact application availability, user experience, and operational continuity.
Cross-Functional Scope & Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborates with multiple internal teams (security, IT operations, application owners, cloud teams) to deliver seamless networking services.
- Manages relationships with external vendors, Aruba/HPE support, and implementation partners.
- Translates technical networking challenges into business risks and value for executives and stakeholders.
- Operates in an agile, fast-changing IT landscape, requiring rapid prioritization and decision-making.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant Aruba or industry certifications strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Over 7 years of professional experience in IT networking, with at least 3 years dedicated to Aruba solutions including wired LAN, wireless LAN (Wi-Fi 6/6E), and ClearPass network access control.
- Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale networking environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across global campuses and branch offices.
- Proven expertise in product/service ownership, including defining service roadmaps, prioritizing requirements, managing lifecycles, and aligning network services with business objectives.
- Strong track record in cross-functional collaboration, working with security, cloud, operations, and application teams to deliver seamless and secure connectivity solutions.
- Hands-on experience with network automation, monitoring, and management tools (Aruba Central, AirWave, APIs), enabling operational efficiency and rapid deployment of new services.
- Skilled in governance and compliance, including enforcing access control policies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring adherence to corporate and regulatory security standards.
- Demonstrated ability to scale networking services for large enterprises, including handling complex multi-site deployments, upgrades, and integration with hybrid cloud or SD-WAN environments
