Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Excel Automation: Develop and maintain Excel VBA macros, Power Query scripts, and other automation tools to streamline repetitive data processing tasks, reporting, and analysis.
- Data Integration: Automate the import and export of data from multiple sources (e.g., databases, APIs, and external files) into Excel, ensuring accurate and efficient data flow.
- Report Generation: Build automated reporting systems that generate accurate, up-to-date reports with minimal user intervention. Optimize complex formulas and processes to ensure fast execution.
- Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and create solutions that minimize manual data entry and reduce human error.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Logistics, etc.) to understand their needs and create tailored Excel automation solutions that meet those requirements.
- Documentation: Provide clear documentation and training materials for any automated systems you develop. Ensure that all stakeholders can easily use and maintain the automated solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Test and debug automated solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability. Monitor automated processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Assist in creating advanced analytical tools in Excel that provide valuable insights for business decision-making, including creating dashboards and visualizations.
Preferred candidate profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Excel: Expertise in Excel, including advanced functions (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables, etc.), formulas, and data modelling.
- VBA: Strong knowledge of Excel VBA for automating repetitive tasks, writing macros, and creating custom solutions.
- Power Query & Power Pivot: Experience with Power Query for data manipulation and Power Pivot for data modelling and reporting.
- Data Integration: Familiarity with connecting Excel to external databases and APIs (SQL, JSON, etc.) for data extraction and automation.

- Experience:
- Proven experience in Excel automation and process optimization, ideally in a business or finance setting.
- Familiarity with additional automation tools like Python, R, or Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages.
- Understanding of business intelligence principles and practices.
