Implementation Consultant (Payments)

Summary/ Objective:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Implementation Engineer with experience in the Cards Payments domain. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in ISO 8583 messaging, POS & ATM transactions, and payment processing flows, along with strong skills in integration, testing, and production support. This role involves working closely with clients, handling end-to-end implementations, and ensuring smooth transaction processing across issuing and acquiring systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on end-to-end implementation of cards payment solutions (Issuing/Acquiring)
• Handle POS and ATM transaction flows, including Purchase, Withdrawal, Refund, and Reversal
• Perform ISO 8583 message validation and ensure correct field mapping
• Support
  
  client onboarding, requirement analysis, and configuration setup
• Conduct SIT/UAT testing and support certification activities
• Monitor and troubleshoot transaction failures, perform root cause analysis
• Provide production support (L2) and ensure timely issue resolution
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors
• Support go-live activities and post-production stabilization
• Maintain proper documentation and reports for implementations and issues

Key Competencies / Skillsets:

• Strong understanding of Cards Payments domain (Issuing & Acquiring)
• Expertise in ISO 8583 messaging and transaction processing
• Solid experience in POS & ATM transaction flows
• Knowledge of payment lifecycle (Authorization, Clearing, Settlement)
• Hands-on experience in API integration (REST/JSON)
• Proficiency in transaction analysis, debugging, and issue resolution
• Experience in UAT, certification, and client onboarding
• Familiarity with Acquiring Switch / Payment Switch systems
• Basic knowledge of SQL and Linux environments
• Understanding of EMV concepts (DE55)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work in production support / L2 environments under pressure

Preferred Education, Experience and Skillsets:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in Cards Payments / Banking domain
