About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced procurement and vendor management leader to drive the end-to-end sourcing, commercial management, supply assurance, and quality governance for Paytms device ecosystem, including Soundbox and EDC/POS devices.
This role will own strategic procurement and vendor partnerships across two distinct device ecosystems: Soundboxes co-developed and manufactured within India through partner ecosystems and component vendors EDC/POS devices procured through global OEMs and international suppliers The individual will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted device supplies, driving commercial negotiations, optimizing capex utilization, improving device quality, and building scalable vendor governance frameworks.
The ideal candidate should bring strong expertise in procurement, electronics sourcing, vendor management, supply planning, commercial negotiations, and hardware quality management.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

- Lead end-to-end procurement strategy for Soundbox and EDC/POS device categories.

- Drive sourcing decisions across domestic manufacturing partners, component suppliers, and international OEMs.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply availability aligned with business demand forecasts and deployment plans.
- Build scalable sourcing and procurement frameworks to support rapid business growth.
Vendor Management & Commercial Leadership

- Manage relationships with manufacturing vendors, OEMs, and component suppliers.
Lead commercial negotiations covering:

- Pricing and commercials

- Supply commitments

- Payment terms

- Warranty and service agreements

- Cost optimization initiatives

- Develop strong vendor governance mechanisms including performance reviews, SLAs, scorecards, and escalation frameworks.
- Build alternate vendor strategies and reduce supply concentration risks.
Soundbox Manufacturing Ecosystem Management

Oversee procurement and coordination across key Soundbox components including:

- Batteries

- Speakers

- PCB assemblies

- Plastic molds and enclosures

- Other electronic and mechanical components

- Work closely with manufacturing partners to improve assembly quality, yields, and production efficiencies.
- Ensure robust coordination across minus-one vendor ecosystems and assembly partners.
EDC/POS Device Procurement

- Manage procurement and supply planning for imported EDC/POS devices.
- Coordinate with international OEMs and supply partners for production planning, shipment tracking, and inventory readiness.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, certifications, and quality standards.
Device Quality & Reliability

- Own device quality governance across procurement and manufacturing stages.
- Establish quality benchmarks, testing protocols, and acceptance standards.
- Monitor field failure trends and collaborate with product, service operations, and engineering teams to drive corrective actions.
- Improve device reliability, longevity, and merchant experience through continuous quality interventions.
Capex & Financial Governance

- Own procurement budgets and capex planning for device categories.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while balancing quality and supply continuity.
- Monitor device landed costs, inventory exposure, and budget adherence.
- Partner with finance and business teams on forecasting and procurement planning.
Supply Planning & Operational Coordination

- Work closely with supply chain, warehousing, deployment, and service teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
- Align procurement plans with business demand forecasts and seasonal scale-up requirements.
- Ensure timely replenishment and inventory availability across networks.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Build and lead a high-performing procurement and vendor management organization.
- Partner closely with product, engineering, operations, finance, legal, and quality teams.
- Drive a culture of operational discipline, commercial rigor, quality ownership, and execution excellence.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience:

- 10-15+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain leadership roles.

- Strong experience in electronics, hardware, devices, telecom, consumer electronics, fintech hardware, or manufacturing ecosystems preferred.
- Exposure to both domestic manufacturing ecosystems and international sourcing/OEM management is highly desirable.
- Experience managing component ecosystems and electronics manufacturing supply chains preferred.
- Strong track record of commercial negotiations and cost optimization initiatives.

Education:

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field required.
- MBA preferred.
