Job Description
- As the Senior Analyst, Sales Incentive and Performance Management, you will be instrumental in shaping the design, execution, and management of incentive compensation plans for Pearson's enterprise sales team. Collaboration with senior management, finance, HR, and sales departments will be key to optimizing sales performance and ensuring that business objectives are closely integrated with sales incentive schemes. This role demands a profound comprehension of incentive program design, performance evaluation, and data analytics.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Incentive Compensation Design & Administration:
- Work in conjunction with sales leadership to conceptualize, implement, and enhance incentive compensation plans that are in harmony with business objectives and sales strategies.
- Ensure that the incentive plans encourage desired behaviors and drive positive business outcomes while remaining competitive within the industry.
- Partner with HR and Finance to guarantee the efficient administration of compensation programs, maintaining precision and timeliness.
Performance Management & Analytics:
- Conduct analysis on sales performance data to offer insights into individual and team achievements.
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs, quota attainment, and incentive performance for the sales team.
- Suggest modifications to incentive programs based on performance trends and market conditions.
- Provide continuous analysis of sales performance metrics to facilitate decision-making, strategic planning, and goal-setting.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the primary contact for sales leaders, HR, Finance, and other departments regarding incentive compensation queries and issues.
- Communicate intricate compensation and performance data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead training sessions for the sales team on the incentive compensation plan, covering updates and significant alterations.
System & Process Optimization:
- Propel the ongoing enhancement of incentive compensation systems and tools to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate compensation systems with sales performance tools, CRM, and other relevant platforms.
- Ensure streamlined procedures for monitoring sales performance and calculating commissions.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure that all incentive compensation programs adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices.
- Support internal audits of incentive compensation plans and reporting when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CCP, SHRM) is advantageous.
Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in sales compensation, incentive design, or sales operations, preferably within an enterprise sales environment.

- Demonstrated experience working with enterprise sales organizations, understanding complex sales cycles, and translating insights into effective compensation programs.
- Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and performance reporting.
- Familiarity with sales incentive software tools (e.g., Xactly, Varicent) is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at transforming data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with senior leaders and simplifying complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data modeling) and experienced in using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Detail-oriented, prioritizing accuracy and process enhancement.
- Effective organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
