Global Category Buyer

Job Purpose (Summary / One - Line Description)
- To lead and manage strategic procurement while driving the global direct category portfolio, ensuring cost optimization, supply reliability, and inventory efficiency, with a strong focus on stakeholder management and value delivery.
Duties/Responsibilities/Activities:
Category & Strategic Procurement
- Lead one of the Global Direct category portfolio
- Manage an overall spend of approx. - 400 Cr. - 600 Cr., delivering cost optimization and value creation.
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with global and regional business priorities.
- Drive supplier relationship management, contracts, and negotiations to achieve TCO benefits.

Purchasing Operations
- Ensure implementation of procurement policies, strategies, and best practices across categories.
- Oversee procurement planning, purchase order management, and ensure compliance with company systems (e.g., SAP).
- Monitor global commodity markets and proactively mitigate risks from price volatility, currency fluctuations, and supply disruptions.
Supplier & Inventory Management
- Maintain and strengthen supplier base through qualification, performance monitoring, and development initiatives.
- Ensure OTIF delivery and inventory optimization to balance working capital and supply continuity.
- Implement supplier rating systems and drive vendor development for consistent performance.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Plants, Finance, R&D, and Global Procurement teams to deliver business objectives.
- Align supplier commitments with internal stakeholders' expectations to enable business continuity and value generation.
Workplace Safety
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, participate in training, and report safety concerns promptly.
IMS Compliance
- Adhere to IMS standards, maintain documentation, and support audits and corrective actions.
ESG Commitment
- Contribute to ESG initiatives, ensure environmental compliance, and promote resource efficiency.
