Job Description

: Senior Executive / Manager Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

Location: India (Bangalore preferred; travel as required)

Experience: 45 years

Reporting to: Director of Impact / CEO (as appropriate)

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Role Purpose

The Senior Executive Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) will independently drive Pollinate Groups M&E function, ensuring rigorous, credible, and timely measurement of impact across programs in India.

This role goes beyond data collection. It requires analytical judgment, methodological clarity, and a sharp eye for impact quality, trends, and gapsworking closely with field teams and leadership, but owning the M&E agenda end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities1. Independent Ownership of M&E Systems
  • Lead the design, refinement, and implementation of Pollinates M&E framework across programs.
  • Review and strengthen indicators, tools, and data collection methods in line with evolving best practices.
  • Ensure consistency, rigor, and relevance in all monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Act as the internal authority on M&E methods, while staying open to innovation and learning.
2. Impact Measurement, Analysis & Insight Generation
  • Take full ownership of impact calculations, dashboards, and core metrics.
  • Move beyond reporting to generate insights, trends, and red flags for leadership.
  • Identify priority impact questions and areas that require deeper evaluation or learning.
  • Ensure impact data meaningfully reflects womens outcomes, livelihoods, clean energy adoption, and empowerment.
3. Data Quality, Governance & Reporting
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete data collection from field teams.
  • Set and manage the impact calendar, ensuring readiness for reports, audits, and donor needs.
  • Maintain clean, well-governed data systems and repositories.
  • Lead written M&E and impact inputs for:
  • Annual impact reports
  • Donor reports
  • Internal reviews and learning documents
4. Collaboration & Field Enablement
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure tools are practical, understood, and implemented well.
  • Train and support teams on M&E processes, tools, and data quality expectations.
  • Partner with Philanthropy and Communications teams to ensure impact data is credible, consistent, and well-used.
  • Facilitate impact-related workshops, reviews, and learning sessions.
5. Learning & Continuous Improvement
  • Introduce learning loopsusing M&E findings to inform program and strategy improvements.
  • Stay updated on evolving M&E approaches, especially in livelihoods, womens empowerment, and clean energy.
  • Recommend refinements to tools, surveys, or methodologies as programs evolve.

  • Not a junior data collection role
  • Not a purely academic or research-only role
  • Not dependent on constant supervision

This role requires independent thinking, ownership, and judgment, with collaborationnot micromanagement.

    Research or learning roles in social impact organisations
  • Hands-on experience working with field-based programs is essential.
Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Experience with:
  • M&E frameworks and indicators
  • Data analysis and visualisation tools
  • Statistical or analytical software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong report-writing and synthesis skills
