Intro And Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IBM i (AS/400) Administrator with strong expertise in MIMIX and QEDD to manage, maintain, and optimize our IBM i systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, availability, and security of our IBM i infrastructure while leveraging MIMIX and QEDD for high availability.
Key Responsibilities

• IBM i Administration:
• Install, configure, and maintain IBM i (AS/400) systems.
• Monitor and ensure the performance, availability, and reliability of IBM i systems.
• Manage system resources, including CPU, memory, disk, and I/O devices.
• Perform backups, system restores, and disaster recovery operations.
• Administer user profiles, security, and permissions on IBM i systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM i hardware and software components.
• MIMIX Management:
• Manage and monitor the MIMIX high availability (HA) solution for IBM i systems.
  
• Ensure proper replication, synchronization, and failover between systems.
• Configure and optimize MIMIX for seamless data replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Perform MIMIX health checks, and upgrades, and apply patches as necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with MIMIX replication or failover processes.
• QEDD Management:
• Install, configure, and maintain QEDD (Queue and Event Driven Data) solutions.
• Manage QEDD job tracking, event monitoring, and job logs.
• Ensure that QEDD is properly integrated with IBM i system jobs and queues to optimize workload management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to QEDD data collection and event processing.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep understanding of IBM i operating systems (OS/400, i5/OS, etc.).
• Experience with system performance monitoring, backup, and restore.

  Get Hired
  Familiarity with IBM i security, user profile management, and system auditing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues in IBM i environments.
• Knowledge of IBM i tools such as BRMS, Navigator for i, and others.
• Certifications (Preferred):
• IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i or equivalent.
• MIMIX or other high availability certifications (if applicable).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on system reliability and uptime.
