What role will you play in the team?
As a UK Corporate Tax Trainee, you will be an essential part of our team, supporting senior members in managing UK corporate tax obligations for our clients. You will be involved in preparing tax computations, analyzing financial data, and assisting with the submission of tax returns to HMRC. Your role is to learn and grow in the field of UK corporate tax.
What you will do
You will be responsible for gathering financial data, preparing basic tax computations, and assisting in the submission of UK corporate tax returns. Your tasks include analyzing client financial information, identifying potential tax issues, and staying updated on changes to UK tax legislation. You will also assist with tax planning and advisory projects under the guidance of senior team members.
Key responsibility
- Assist in the preparation of UK corporation tax returns (CT600) and computations.
- Gather and analyze financial data to support tax return preparation.
- Conduct research on UK tax legislation and case law.
- Assist with the preparation of tax provisions for financial statements.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address tax-related queries.
- Support senior team members with tax planning and advisory projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records.
- Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
- Identify potential tax planning opportunities and recommend strategies to clients.
- Prepare tax-related documentation for clients.
Required Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of UK tax laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of UK VAT regulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with UK tax compliance software (e.g., Alphatax).
- Basic understanding of transfer pricing principles.
