Field Application Engineer- Computer Science Background

Hiring: Field Application Engineer (Computer Science Background) | 0–2 Years

Primionics is an engineering-led technology partner working across embedded systems, automotive software, and industrial automation. We collaborate with global companies such as Parasoft, Visure, Verum, wolfSSL, and CODESYS to enable engineering teams in adopting advanced tools and workflows.

We are currently looking for early-career engineers (0–2 years) with a strong computer science foundation who are interested in applying their knowledge to real-world engineering environments.

Role Overview

This role combines engineering fundamentals with practical application, including exposure to software tools, system workflows, and customer-facing technical discussions. Candidates will work closely with internal teams and support engineering engagements across multiple domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand software systems, architectures, and engineering workflows
• Support evaluation and application of engineering tools across domains
• Assist in technical discussions, demonstrations, and Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs)
• Analyze problems and contribute to solution-oriented discussions
• Create basic technical documentation and support knowledge development

Required Skills

• Basic programming knowledge in C, C++, Python.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle.
• Basic knowledge of testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Familiarity with Git, IDEs, and basic software tools.
• Ability to read technical product documentation.
• Basic understanding of embedded systems is an advantage.

Good To Have

• Knowledge of software testing concepts.
• Exposure to unit testing, static analysis, or code quality tools.
• Basic understanding of requirements management and traceability.
• Knowledge of automotive, aerospace, medical, or industrial software standards.
• Awareness of MISRA, ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 62304, ASPICE, or cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience with technical presentations, college projects, hackathons, or customer interaction.

This is not a pure software developer role. The role combines software understanding, customer communication, product demonstration, technical support, and solution positioning. Candidates who want only backend coding may not be the right fit.
