Position Description
You will be working in the CTO team to design and develop high-impact and innovative products at PubMatic. You will be responsible for doing POC of modern technologies and innovative ideas and identifying the highest-impact projects at PubMatic. You will also be responsible for driving technical innovation and you will be working with engineering, product management, customer success, data center, and customer success in multiple areas. You will also be participating in ideating engineering excellence projects, such as software optimizations, performance, security, and sustainability. You will be giving guidance to the engineering team on various projects and initiatives to drive success and productivity. You will also be responsible for designing and developing end-to-end product features for the PubMatic platform that would have high transactions per second and will include open RTB, Analytics, API, and other components.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing and developing software modules for various parts of the system architecture.
• The architecture and design decisions needed to achieve cost-effective and high-performance results.
• Portable, high-performance, and high-quality code following the best practices for software development and documentation.
• With product and business stakeholders to derive the best strategy for product development which will add significant business value.

• Complex issues discovered in-house as well as in customer environments.
• As a mentor to team members, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to help them grow professionally and reach their full potential within the organization.
• A culture of continuous learning and development within the engineering team, encouraging team members to pursue relevant training courses, attend workshops, conferences, contests and participate in professional development opportunities.
• To manage a team of 4-5 high-performance technologists.
  

Requirements:

• 8-12 years of product development experience with building highly scalable applications using optimal algorithms, advanced data structures, design patterns, multithreading, memory management, and collections framework.
• Experience in languages such as Java, Go lang/C++, data analytics technologies.
• Experience in ad tech, analytics, open RTB, bidding platforms, API integrations, data, and audience, etc.
• A solid knowledge of the principles of computer science is desired.

• Working experience in a Linux/UNIX environment is mandatory.
• Working experience with relational databases preferably MySQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases and database concepts.
• Experience with SQL and database optimization techniques for performance and space.
• Working knowledge of scripting Perl/Python/Shell.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
