Role Overview

Looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Quality Analyst (BA/QA) with strong expertise in Life Insurance and Annuity products. The ideal candidate will bridge business requirements and technology solutions while ensuring high-quality delivery through structured testing. This role requires a deep understanding of life & annuity product rules, policy administration systems, business processes, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, product features, and process workflows related to Life and Annuity products.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and SMEs to understand policy administration systems, product configurations, and customer journeys.
  
• Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases.
• Support product configuration, rate setup, and policy calculations.
• Collaborate with development and testing teams to ensure requirements are well understood and implemented correctly.
• Act as a liaison between the product team and the IT Team

Quality Assurance

• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business requirements.
• Perform system testing, functional testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate life & annuity product calculations (premium, benefits, riders, cash value, surrender charges, etc.) against business rules.
• Conduct regression, data migration, and end-to-end policy lifecycle testing.
• Report, track, and manage defects to resolution using defect management tools.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and company quality guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  8+ years of experience as a BA/QA in Insurance domain, with strong focus on Life Insurance and Annuities.
• Strong knowledge of policy administration systems (e.g. LifePro)
• Expertise in Life & Annuity product rules Term Life, Whole Life, Universal Life, Variable Annuities, Fixed Annuities, Riders, Illustrations, etc.
• Proven ability to analyze business processes, identify gaps, and propose solutions.
• Hands-on experience in test planning, execution, and defect management.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, user story grooming, and backlog management.
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing backend processes.
• Strong documentation skills using BRDs, FRDs, Use Cases, User Stories, and Test Artefacts.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
