Senior Data Analyst

As a Senior Data Analyst, your mission will be to work with global stakeholders to design, build, and launch collections of sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across different products and domains. The Senior Data Analyst will focus on scalability, increased scope of business intelligence dashboards, and the delivery of deeper insights through the incorporation of more external data sources into the current data models.

The mission of the business intelligence team is to create a data-driven culture which empowers leaders to integrate data into daily decisions and strategic planning. We aim to provide visibility, transparency, and guidance regarding the quantity and quality of results, activities, financial KPIs, and leading indicators to easily identify trends aimed at data-based decision-making.

Position Summary

What you will do

• Build, standardize, and scale dashboards for various internal global stakeholders with key business metrics to drive business decisions
• Redesign reports and dashboards from one environment and platform to another (e.g. MySQL and Tableau Server to BigQuery and Tableau Online)
• Thoroughly document dashboards and metrics created - make updates and changes to existing dashboards based on requirements and existing documentation
• Work closely with colleagues across the world in other timezones to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide/receive guidance on data projects
• Provide easy to interpret insights derived from data to product, sales, marketing, and global operational business units
• Perform data analysis and apply data visualization techniques to present business information and highlight different perspectives on key business decision areas
• Review reports and analyses to ensure underlying data reconciles to trusted sources and to reinforce zero error reputation for published and high-profile deliverables
• Communicate results to functional leadership and provide visibility into details of underlying work
• Apply statistical theories and models to understand business trends

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  7+ years of data analysis and visualization experience, turning data into insights and recommendations
• Practical data warehouse analytical experience required (Google Bigquery preferred)
• Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of global internal clients
• Experience in role that required data analytics and modeling for business use (e.g. strategic planning, management consulting or analysis)
• Strong proficiency in SQL (Python optional) to query and manipulate large data sets. Experience with platforms like Databricks, Power BI or Tableau.
• Proficiency in advanced statistical operations (e.g. correlations, regressions)
• Working knowledge of data warehouse principles
• Strong MS Excel experience (e.g., lookup formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling)
• A self-starter who likes to see the big picture, but also enjoys getting into the details
• A strong communicator (oral and written), who is curious, enthusiastic, personable and demonstrates high attention to detail
• Strategic problem solver and highly collaborative team player who is comfortable working as a SME and key contributor on a matrixed team and able to navigate many crossflow dependencies and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience with a statistical scripting language (Python, R, Matlab etc) is preferred
