Job Summary:
As the Head of PMO, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the PMO to ensure programs and projects across the organization are executed effectively, on time, and within budget.
You will work closely with Product, Technology, and business leaders to align initiatives with the companys strategic goals and ensure project governance, reporting, and best practices are consistently applied.
Key Responsibilities:
PMO Leadership & Strategy:
- Define and implement PMO strategy, frameworks, and best practices.
- Lead a team of program/project managers and drive a high-performance culture.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure program and portfolio performance.

Portfolio & Program Governance:
- Oversee the full product lifecycle across product lines from initiation, execution to closure.
- Prioritize and manage interdependencies among initiatives across departments.
- Ensure adherence to SAFe / Agile delivery methodology.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with C-level executives and department heads to align projects with strategic business objectives.
- Provide transparent and timely reporting on portfolio status, risks, and impacts.
- Act as an escalation point to resolve conflicts and remove blockers.
Tooling & Automation:
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize tools for project tracking (e.g., Jira, Monday, Asana, Smartsheet etc).
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency.
Team Development:
- Hire, mentor, and coach PMO staff.
- Create career paths and training plans for the PMO team to foster growth and retention.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in project/program management, with 3+ years in a PMO leadership role.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced product/SaaS/tech company environment.
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, PMP).
- Experience managing large, cross-functional programs and portfolios.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Hands-on experience with project management and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello, MS Project).
Preferred Skills:
- PMP, PgMP, or SAFe certification.
- Background in software Technology or product management.
- Exposure to distributed work models.
- Experience in managing organizational change or agile transformation.
