Head - Finance & Administration

Description:


Role Summary:
The Head of Finance & Administration will partner closely with the General Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight across finance, administration, compliance, and governance for the company who has a portfolio of food, beverage, and hospitality brands. The role is critical to ensuring financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, while supporting the companys growth ambitions across East Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Financial Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of financial strategy aligned with growth and regional expansion plans
- Prepare, analyze, and present MIS and Board-level financial reports to the Board of Directors
- Provide financial forecasting, scenario planning, and risk assessments to support decision-making
- Lead capital planning, ROI analysis, and investment evaluations for new outlets, lounges, and strategic initiatives
- Develop financial models to optimize revenue, manage costs, and ensure long-term profitability
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, management accounts, statutory reporting, and tax filings in compliance with Tanzanian regulations
- Ensure accurate P&L reporting across restaurants, lounges, and hospitality operations
- Lead cash flow, treasury, and working capital management
- Raise debt, structure facilities, and manage ongoing relationships with lenders and financial institutions
- Monitor cost structures and drive efficiencies across procurement, supply chain, utilities, and payroll
- Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
Administration, Compliance & Governance:

- Establish and enforce strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks
- Ensure compliance across finance, tax, labor, food safety, and hospitality regulatory standards
- Oversee administrative functions including HR, payroll, IT systems, facilities, and supply chain support
- Manage legal, risk, insurance, contracts, and franchise compliance obligations
ERP, Systems & Process Optimization:
- Lead onboarding, setup, and implementation of ERP systems and financial automation tools
- Drive digital transformation across ERP, POS, HR/payroll systems, and management dashboards
- Improve data accuracy, reporting speed, and decision-making through system and process enhancements
People Leadership:
- Lead, manage, and mentor the Accounts and Administration teams
- Build high-performing teams with strong accountability, capability development, and retention
- Champion a culture of integrity, discipline, and continuous improvement
