Senior Underwriter - Commercial Lines

What role you will play in team: Lead underwriter with significant experience in the assessment and management of risk within a commercial insurance portfolio. You will mentor junior underwriters and contribute to the overall success of the underwriting team.

What you will do: You will evaluate risk, develop underwriting guidelines, and mentor junior underwriters. You will focus on maintaining profitability and managing a portfolio of commercial insurance policies.

Key responsibility:

• Lead the underwriting process for a portfolio of commercial insurance policies.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including financial analysis and site inspections.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Mentor and train junior underwriters.
• Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
• 
  Monitor policy performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the development of new insurance products.

Required Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and markets.
• Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Advanced knowledge of risk assessment techniques.
• Ability to manage a large portfolio of policies.
