Job Description
- JioTesseract, a digital arm of Reliance Industries, is India's leading and largest AR/VR organization with the mission to democratize mixed reality for India and the world. We make products at the cross of hardware, software, content and services with focus on making India the leader in spatial computing. We specialize in creating solutions in AR, VR and AI, with some of our notable products such as JioGlass, JioDive, 360 Streaming, Metaverse, AR/VR headsets for consumers and enterprise space.
You will be part of the Software Core Services group in the organization and will be responsible for the roadmap, architecture, design, and management of the entire Mixed Reality ecosystem core libraries and tools. Your role will involve delivering Infrastructure & Platform solutions for Tesseract's internal applications, supporting all "verticals" at Tesseract with broadly applicable "horizontal" solutions and shared infrastructures, aligning with Tesseract's Technology Roadmap. This will be an individual contributor role where you will work as an interface between Developers, Engineers, Operations, and Support staff.
Your responsibilities will include developing and deploying a consumer operating system based on Android Open-Source Project (AOSP). You will be using Agile as the core philosophy for software delivery processes using tools like JIRA for task management, Git for source code management including branching strategy and code review, and Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines for automated builds and unit test cases. Additionally, you should have deep knowledge of the Android Framework Layer and proactively communicate and collaborate with the architect and engineering manager to analyze business needs and functional requirements for delivering scalable and modular libraries and tools.
- Expert level proficiency in technology and architecture, hands-on coding skills, and the ability to translate low-level business requirements into technology execution.
- AOSP relevant experience in HAL HIDL, AIDL (Binder), Android camera development, Android display pipeline, graphics OpenGLES, and Android audio module.
- Programming languages proficiency in C/C++/Java (Any) with a preference for C++11, C++13, C++15, C++19 or Java 8/15.

- Experience with Android display pipeline, graphics OpenGLES, Display Driver, Gralloc, Hardware composer, HWC, SurfaceFlinger, Display interfaces, EGL, OpenGL ES, NativeWindow, graphics driver, DRM, Wayland, AOSP display framework layer.
- Experience with Android audio module at different layers like BSP, HAL, Framework layer, Audio DSP Drive, ALSA, Audio DSP, Audio Firmware, I2S, PCM, Audio HAL, Audio policy, Audio Effect, OpenSL ES, Audio Track, Audio record, TinyALSA, AudioFlinger, Audio Service, Audio framework.
