About the job
This role will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team that will be fully responsible for ensuring the correct US GAAP and IFRS accounting treatment for all capitalized assets and lease agreements (real estate, operating and finance).
This role will support the business for forecasts, budgets and analysis relating to assets and leases.
They will also be responsible for ensuring that we maximise the potential from our existing underlying systems (Oracle, CoStar and BlackLine) and consistently evolve to embrace new technology.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Fixed Asset/Lease Management, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Ensure close process, month end review and flux analysis for fixed assets and leases is completed on a timely basis.
- Ownership of reconciliation process to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements.
- Delivery of fixed assets and leases reporting to Corporate on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Ownership of quarterly sub-certification for fixed assets and leases.
- Ownership of the fixed asset register to include monitoring of capital projects and identification of obsolete assets.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of abstracted lease records within CoStar, global leasing system.
- Technical review of accounting for new and modified lease contracts including classification testing.

- Perform quarterly review of assets and leases for impairment triggers, prepare analysis and record entries as required.
- Accuracy of the recording of other related real estate costs (e.
service charges, utilities, business rates, dilapidations).
- Support Finance and Operations providing accurate and timely reports and ad-hoc analysis to aid decision making.
- Ownership of fixed asset and lease disclosures for 10K/10Q.
- Collaborate with local controllership on statutory accounts disclosures for multiple legal entities.
Auditing and Compliance Monitoring:
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with relevant local regulatory requirements.
- In partnership with GBS Compliance develop, maintain, and evolve SOX narratives and control documentation.
- Implement a structured self-testing program to proactively identify and remediate control gaps before audits.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement changes that generate efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure existing systems (Oracle, CoStar, BlackLine) are optimised and identify new technology opportunities.
- Develop and implement internal KPIs and customer focused SLAs to deliver a best in class Fixed Assets & Leases accounting service
People Leadership and Development:
- Build, develop and lead a highly performing fixed assets and leases team (approximately 20 heads).
- Set performance objectives aligned to GBS goals.
- Create a structure that aligns with team responsibilities and ensures appropriate succession planning.
- Foster a strong reporting and compliance culture through coaching, recognition, and development.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 10 years of Fixed Assets and Leases experience, with at least 5 years leadership in a global organization.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with focus on US GAAP and IFRS for fixed assets and leases.
- Expertise in SOX and operational compliance in shared services.
- Strong leadership, communication (English language), and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated success in cross-cultural, virtual team environments
