We are looking for a Tax Analyst who has experience in preparation and maintenance of tax records, returns, reports and other related materials. Participates in the development and implementation of tax strategy. Devises legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations. Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden.

Reporting line: Senior Advisor - Taxation

Scope: Your scope will include (but not limited to) below:-

• Ensuring a broad knowledge of current tax regulations, providing advice and assistance to the organization as required for example on tax consolidation, tax audits, tax accounting processes and tax reporting


• Responsible for direct tax compliances in India and Singapore such as withholding tax, advance tax, corporate tax returns etc.


• Monthly review of books of accounts from tax perspective including month end tax accounting process, TDS reconciliations, income tax provisions, deferred tax etc.


• Working closely with internal team and tax consultant to close tax audits, statutory audit, tax assessments and appeals for Rio Tinto


• 
  Aid tax manager on managing critical tax issues, implementation of key tax projects and other related regulations wherever needed.


• Assists in vetting the organization's tax documents for acceptable and correct wordings


• Deals with straightforward queries from governmental revenue agencies like traces portal, managing the administrative work related thereto


• Working with the Accounting & Reporting managers to support and advise other corporate departments as appropriate, in particular tax and treasury strategies and as necessary provide support to various teams in tax accounting and consolidation


• Reviewing and interpreting monthly and half yearly business unit financial information, understanding variances, and ensuring complex tax matters are correctly represented


• Responsible for undertaking thorough research on tax advisory/ compliance matters by applying the technical skills and experience


• Working knowledge and experience in handling indirect tax compliance (GST)

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• A Chartered accountant with 3-4 years of experience


• A CA inter or equivalent qualification with relevant experience of at least 7 years


• Sound technical knowledge of Tax accounting and direct taxation.


• Strong administration, organizational and project management skills and good all round intellectual and interpersonal skills


• Sound knowledge of accounting/ tax tools like Hyperion Financial Management including Smart view and SAP , Microsoft Word , Excel, with ability to become strong users of other business systems

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Working knowledge/ experience in handling Singapore tax compliances
