Reserving Actuary

Role Purpose

This role will work with our teams in areas of Group Reserve Reviews, regional reserving support to the businesses, Solvency II technical provisions at RSA Group and regional level, reserving models and model selection, large loss/Propensity Modelling, Trend projections, liaising with reserving actuaries throughout the Group, reserving data and database preparation and making improvement to reserving analyses and will interact with and learn from experts across the globe and will have the opportunity to work closely with some of the most brilliant minds in the industry.

Responsibilities

- The role holder is expected to take ownership and demonstrate an ability to identify and develop appropriate solutions to complex actuarial problems. Key responsibilities will include Project Management & Delivery

- Project scoping and planning

- Project Training: Guide junior team members on training required for projects. Study past projects / self-train for medium risk projects

- Analysis & Modelling: Conduct analysis for projects by applying standard Actuarial and Statistical analysis techniques. Explore new / more appropriate analysis methodologies, Check and validate appropriateness of applied methodologies.

- People management responsibilities

- Peer Review: Conduct independent peer review for projects as per best practices of RSA

- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare project documentation such as assumptions, final output.

- Prepare draft final stakeholder presentations

Qualifications

- Were looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Minimum prior relevant experience of 4+ years in General Insurance.

- Strong analytical and modelling capabilities with research and problem-solving skills.

- Develop and use collaborative relationship to facilitate the accomplishment of working goals.

- Innovative and result orientated.

- Knowledge of ResQ will be an added advantage
