Job Description

Saint-Gobain Research India (SGR India) is one of the eight transversal R&D Centers for the Saint-Gobain Group set up to develop products, systems, and solutions for hot-and-humid climates. The center is located at IIT Madras Research Park and is part of a unique & vibrant ecosystem that fosters innovation through collaboration with academia while partnering with start-up companies. SGR India is looking for a Research Engineer to join our growing team.

As a Research Engineer at Saint-Gobain Research India (SGR India), you will be part of the Project Management Office (PMO), which is responsible for creating and enforcing project management standards and tools to support the project and innovation lifecycle. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are managed according to specific standards set by the organization (SG/BU standards) and will be responsible for setting and maintaining these project standards. Your role involves providing centralized coordination and support for specific or all projects within the organization.
Your responsibilities will include understanding and applying different project management methodologies, serving as the single point of contact for all Project Leaders in the Glass division, conducting regular training sessions on existing tools, providing guidance, documentation, and tools to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget, and communicating effectively using business language in an industrial environment. You will also be expected to respect and promote a safe work environment, abide by Saint-Gobain safety, health, and environment policies, and identify opportunities for improving workplace safety.

Key Competencies required for this role include knowledge of project management methodologies, excellent organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in Pack Office tools, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, adaptability to work both independently and as part of a team, organizational efficiency, and knowledge of business goals to align project goals accordingly.
To be considered for this role, you should have an M.Tech/MS with a certification in Project Management Program (PMP) and experience in using different project management methodologies. Experience in managing project/portfolio will be preferred.
