Job Description

Scholastic India is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our team and lead our efforts in engaging educational institutions for our internship programs. The primary responsibility of this role is to establish and nurture relationships with heads of institutions, present the value of Scholastics internship opportunities, and enroll schools for participation in these impactful programs. The role will focus on demonstrating how internships with Scholastic India help students develop essential 21st-century skills, enhancing their personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & Relationship Management:
  • Meet with Heads of Institutions to introduce and promote Scholastic Indias internship programs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with educational leaders to secure institutional buy-ins for internships.
  • Tailor presentations to highlight how Scholastic internships help students develop critical 21st-century skills such as leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication.
  • Value Proposition & Program Promotion:
  • Conduct persuasive and informative presentations, highlighting the unique value Scholastic internship programs offer to students and educational institutions.
  • Demonstrate how Scholastics internship programs align with modern educational trends and enhance school curricula by providing real-world, experiential learning opportunities.
  • Program Enrollment & Negotiation:
  • Guide institutions through the onboarding process, from initial interest to enrollment, ensuring a smooth and effective transition.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with institutions to formalize partnerships, ensuring mutual benefits and understanding.
  • Market Insights & Feedback:
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, educational needs, and student development to adapt the internship offering accordingly.
  • Collect feedback from institutions to ensure the programs remain relevant and valuable.

  • Reporting & Performance Tracking:
  • Track and report progress toward business development goals, including the number of schools enrolled, meetings conducted, and overall growth of the internship program.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on achievements and any challenges faced.

Education:

  • A bachelors degree in Business Administration, Education, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or relationship management in any customer centric industry.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities.
  • Ability to articulate the value of internships and real-world learning experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
