Key Purpose
As a part of the graduate scheme, you will undertake several different roles in your first 24 months at Serco, immersing you in all aspects of the business. You will take an active role within our contracts and/or functions across our core sectors of Transport and Citizen Services. You will develop insights into the different sectors of our business whilst building a range of operational, commercial and people leadership skills.
Throughout the programme you will build your understanding Serco’s business and live our values. From day one you will be focussing on developing your capability to lead teams of talented people, build customer relationships, manage customers, solve complex problems and communicate effectively throughout these processes.
Key Accountabilities
Observing interaction with the customer and taking gradual responsibility for reporting interaction and growing relationships
Develop account management skills by gradual exposure and responsibility for successful management of our customers, our services and day to day issues
Demonstrate a customer mind-set and deploy continuous improvement as a means of improving service excellence.
Manage a variety of day to day service issues, with support, building confidence in decision making and increased accountability
Seek opportunities for collaboration, networking, knowledge sharing and team building can bring to making a business successful
Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, colleagues, customers and team members and build strong and positive relationships with your Serco colleagues
Build skills in, performance management, coaching, development, engagement and leadership responsibilities
Liaison with Contract leaders to understand our ways of working and how we best manage our business in accordance with these
What we are looking for in our candidates
Degree level qualification backed by a passion for business. Students who have studied internationally will be considered.
High proficiency in the English language
A genuine interest in people and leadership
Strong commercial mind-set and passion for the economics & finances of business and s trong passion to “make a difference”
Desire to learn – through operational experience and through self-development
High levels of personal resilience in dealing with change, ambiguity, and challenges
Self-motivated, self-aware, and a natural relationship builder ,
Ambitious and driven with a willingness to take responsibility for your career
Able to build and maintain a positive personal brand and reputation
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal awareness and ability to connect, build relationship and collaborate with various stakeholders internally and externally and colleagues at all levels
Preferrable Extra Curricula activities such as: Involvement in industry projects, Internships, Volunteering
