Job Title: GIS Data Architect/Analyst (Onsite/Remote)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Data Architect/Analyst to design, develop, and manage advanced geospatial data solutions. This role is critical in building data architectures and analytical models that support enterprise GIS systems, geospatial data warehousing, and intelligent analytics. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in linear referencing systems, spatial data modeling, and emerging AI/ML technologies, while also possessing strong technical knowledge in data extraction, transformation, and integration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement GIS data models and architectures to support spatial data warehousing and enterprise GIS solutions.
• Develop and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and linear referencing methods (LRM) for transportation and other linear datasets.
• Apply machine learning (ML), deep learning, and artificial intelligence (AI)
  
  techniques to analyze and process geospatial data.
• Explore and implement innovative solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs) to enhance geospatial intelligence and automation.
• Develop data transformation pipelines, including scripting and automation for ETL processes.
• Support cross-platform data integration, including geospatial and tabular datasets in various formats.
• Collaborate with other GIS teams to ensure data architecture aligns with application and system requirements.
• Document metadata, schema, and workflows to maintain data integrity and transparency.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools for geospatial analytics and processing.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Proven experience in GIS data modeling and geospatial data warehousing.
• Strong expertise in linear referencing systems and methods.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML techniques, including:

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) for data integration and transformation.
• Knowledge of ETL readers and writers for extracting and loading cross-platform data formats.
• Proficiency in scripting and coding (e.g., Python, SQL, JavaScript) for custom ETL workflows and geospatial automation.
• Familiarity with data interoperability standards and geospatial metadata best practices.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, Geomatics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in GIS data architecture, analytics, or geospatial system design.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise or government GIS environments is preferred.
