Full Stack Engineer

This is a remote position.

Shuru is an AI-native engineering services company building products with leading startups, enterprises, and well-funded scale-ups across India, Southeast Asia, the UAE, and global markets. This is an early tech lead position on a focused squad working on a live B2B product. Youll lead one junior frontend engineer today, with strong potential to grow the team.

The role leans toward frontend craft, but youll own the full stack end to end. Youll be the technical anchor for the squad: making architecture calls, raising the quality bar, and making sure what we ship goes live cleanly and stays reliable.

• Lead feature development end to end across React-based interfaces and Node.js / Express backend services

• Own the frontend architecture: component design, state management, performance, accessibility, and the overall feel of the product

• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs, handle data modelling, and keep backend services clean, well-tested, and predictable

• Take applications from local environments to production. CI/CD pipelines, environment setup, monitoring, alerting, and incident response sit with you

• Review code, mentor the junior engineer on the squad, and set technical direction for the team

• Work directly with product stakeholders. Translate ambiguous requirements into shipped work without long handoffs

• Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as a core part of your daily workflow, not as an afterthought

• 3+ years of professional experience as a full stack engineer

  

• Strong React.js skills: hooks, modern patterns, performance optimisation, and a real point of view on component architecture. Youve built non-trivial interfaces and care about the craft of what users see and touch

• Solid command of Node.js and Express.js for production-grade backend services

• Hands-on DevOps experience. Comfortable with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)

• Experience taking applications live and keeping them live. Logging, monitoring, debugging production issues, and not panicking when something breaks at 2 AM

• Strong Git workflow discipline and code review practices

• Comfortable owning decisions and explaining them to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

• Active, fluent user of AI coding tools in your daily workflow

• TypeScript across both frontend and backend

• Experience with Next.js or other React meta-frameworks

• Database design experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

• Exposure to observability tools (Datadog, Sentry, New Relic, Grafana)

• Past experience leading a small team, even informally

• Remote-first, with a virtual office on Gather.town where the squad spends the workday together

• Daily stand-ups, weekly iteration planning, monthly reviews. Real cadence, no ceremony for the sake of ceremony
