Job Description
- As an R&D Technician - Cementitious Mortar at Sika, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, reinforcing, and protection in the building sector and industry. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the trial modification of mortar, grouts, tile adhesive, and other related products.
Your duties and responsibilities will include supporting trial mixes for research and development purposes, conducting physical parameter testing of competitor samples and raw materials, performing field tests at sites as instructed, testing various materials such as sands, cement, and chemicals, compiling and analyzing laboratory test results, preparing stability samples, and assisting in data collection for shrinkage and tam studies.
You will also be responsible for monitoring raw material stock availability, maintaining laboratory equipment and tools, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), supporting training activities, assisting in equipment calibration, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
To qualify for this role, you should have a graduate degree, a minimum of 2 years of experience in product development within a chemical manufacturing company, knowledge of construction chemicals, R&D, and quality control processes. Experience with cement, concrete admixture, and analytical equipment handling is preferred, along with basic computer skills.
