Job Description
- As a Category Manager - Services at SKF, your role will involve strategic sourcing & procurement activities for SKF entities in the region for the SERVICES category. You will be responsible for performing local purchasing according to defined strategy and frameworks. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic sourcing activities for the Services Category, analyzing industry trends, developing long-term strategies, and managing relationships with vendors.
- Conducting comprehensive spend analytics, analyzing data to industry trends, and developing sourcing strategies.
- Working with cross-functional teams and Global Category Managers to ensure execution of strategies across factories.
- Owning pricing and commercial discussions, including rate contracts and frame agreements within the purchasing process framework.
- Leading and managing supplier relationships from cost, quality, delivery, and de-risking perspectives.
- Developing new suppliers in collaboration with other functions.
In addition to strategic sourcing, you will also be involved in operational purchasing tasks such as PR processing, end-to-end negotiations, agreement preparation, and tracking supplier performance. You will have the opportunity to work in an international and developing environment, be part of an experienced team, and gain in-depth knowledge of best-in-class purchasing processes.
Qualifications and Experience required for this role:
- 8+ years of relevant techno-commercial experience in industrial/auto companies
- 2-3 years of relevant sourcing & procurement experience
- BE/BTech/MTech in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
- MBA in Operations preferred
- Commercial acumen and knowledge of commercial terms and contracting

- Excel and ERP system knowledge (SAP Ariba) is an added advantage
- Strong stakeholder management skills, both internal and external
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Supplier Relationship Management skills
