Role Summary
Own and drive SleepyCat's central planning and analytics charter by building an AI-powered decision engine for the company.
This is not a traditional analytics role - you will combine data, automation, and AI (LLMs + agent workflows) to transform how decisions are made across the organization.
You will partner with business, marketing, supply chain, finance, and product teams to create a unified analytical backbone, while embedding AI into everyday workflows to enable faster, smarter, and increasingly automated decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Central Analytics Ownership
- Act as the single-threaded owner of business analytics, working directly with the COO
- Define and maintain a company-wide single source of truth for all critical metrics
- Transition the organization from dashboard-driven to decision-system-driven analytics
- AI-Driven Insights & Decision Support
- Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical + AI-solvable problems
- Deliver actionable insights, recommendations, and AI-assisted summaries (not just reports)
- Build automated insight generation systems using LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT)
- Enable teams to interact with data via natural language querying and AI copilots
- Planning & Performance Management (Augmented by AI)
- Own annual/quarterly planning with AI-assisted forecasting and scenario modeling
- Build dynamic metric trees and performance scorecards
- Develop directional P&L views enhanced by AI-driven assumptions and simulations
- Use AI to identify hidden patterns, anomalies, and growth opportunities
- Tooling, Automation & AI Agents

- Make MapleMonk the central analytics + decision intelligence platform
- Build AI-agent-style workflows, such as:
- Automated metric monitoring and anomaly detection
- AI-generated weekly/monthly business reviews
- Rule-based and LLM-powered decision recommendations
- Leverage tools like:
- ChatGPT (analysis, summarization, insight generation)
- GitHub Copilot (rapid prototyping, automation)
- Integrate APIs, data pipelines, and LLMs to create lightweight internal tools and decision systems
- Reduce manual effort by building self-running analytics workflows
- Data Infrastructure & AI Enablement
- Improve integrations across payment gateways, marketplaces, ERP, and marketing platforms
- Ensure high-quality, structured data pipelines suitable for AI and automation use cases
- Work with tech teams to embed AI models into dashboards and workflows
- Analytics Adoption & AI Evangelism
- Drive adoption of standardized dashboards + AI-powered tools
- Replace fragmented reporting with centralized, intelligent systems
- Train teams on:
- Data interpretation
- Effective use of AI tools in daily workflows
- Continuously push the organization toward AI-assisted and semi-autonomous decision-making
Must-Have Qualifications
- B.Tech/BE from IIT or top-tier engineering institute (or equivalent pedigree)
- 2-4 years in analytics / business planning / data roles (consumer internet, D2C, e-commerce, consulting, product-led orgs)
- Strong problem-solving ability:
- Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete data
- Able to structure problems into analytical + AI-driven approaches
Technical & AI Skillset
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
- Strong understanding of business metrics (CAC, LTV, funnels, cohorts, contribution margins)
- Strong working knowledge of applied AI in business contexts, including:
- Prompt engineering and LLM usage
- AI-assisted analysis and reporting
- Validating and stress-testing AI outputs
Coding & Automation
- Comfortable with Python and SQL scripting
- Ability to:
- Automate reporting and workflows
- Build scripts, notebooks, and internal tools
- Connect APIs and external data sources
- Ability to combine Python + APIs + LLMs to build scalable analytics systems
- Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into workflows is a strong plus
AI & Agents (Critical for This Role)
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in:
- Using tools like ChatGPT and copilots for work acceleration
- Designing agent-like workflows (alerts, decision flows, automation pipelines)
- Experimenting rapidly with new AI tools and integrating them into business use cases
