Job Description
Role & responsibilities:
- Develop Company Strategy (short-term: 1-year, mid-long-term: 3-8 years), including Macroeconomic and credit industry overview and insights.
- Peer benchmarking - with relevant industry peers (NBFCs), across P&L parameters and ratios
- Business and product-wise strategy, with a strong lens on single loan and overall product profitability. Cover industry trends, regulatory overview and directions and implications, SWOT, strategic insights and implications from peers (product-wise), own P&L performance (historic and current) and draw the strategy forward. Specifically cover profitability drivers and P&L metrices to track / review, product-wise.
- Lead preparation of Management Review Documents: Present Company / business performance versus Annual Business Plan (ABP), with clear reasoning on any shortfall, and plan to cover the same ahead. Include regulatory / market impact (favorable / adverse) on business performance. Include business and financial forecast. P&L focus. Product-wise.
- New Business Strategy and incubation: Assessment of multiple new lending products, classification on market attractiveness, feasibility and strategic fit, selection / prioritization of select products for Companys new business build.
- Develop New Business Build decks for selected products: market segmentation, relevant market size & growth, competition benchmarking, business model, detailed business build plan and financial projections for 4-years, P&L break-even and desired ROA, basis detailed assumptions on function-wise manpower, productivity, tech costs, and cost of credit basis market intel. Develop project plan up to business go-live.
- Lead (along with Business) Board approval / alignment on new products to be launched.
- Lead / support new business incubation phase.
- Lead / support execution and delivery of strategic projects: Companys inorganic growth strategy - market assessment of past M&A deals in NBFC industry, interaction with bankers for sourcing potential target companies, initial assessment of strategic and business fit.
- Corporate Development: Assessment of strategic options, synergies and scenarios for Corporate Development projects
- Support to management consulting projects.
- CEO priority or Company special priority projects like International Credit Rating - Management Review Deck (for eventual first-time international retail bond fund raising), Company AI Strategy, Company Opex Optimization across functions and expense heads, Key regulatory implementation projects.
Lead / drive synergies initiatives:
- Lead/drive business accretive partnerships with Group's Corporate customers. End-consumer financing with auto OEMs; supply chain finance to suppliers and channel partners of Corporate Customers - in close coordination with Business / product and Risk policy teams.
- Drive synergies with Groups large financial investees in India.
- Drive CEO priorities understand CEO priorities in CEO-LT reviews, develop/review minutes of the meetings, track closure with cross-functional senior teams / LT members.

Preferred candidate profile:
- Minimum 10 years prior experience with in Banking / NBFC
- Minimum 5 years FP&A experience
- Chartered Accountant with strong knowledge of the Company Act, Company financials
- Further education: Top-tier MBA or similar is good to have
- Good to have: Strategy or Consulting (Transaction Advisory) or any additional roles within lending context (e.g. Product, FP&A, cross-sell, etc.)
