Mep Planning Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Core responsibilities

• Project planning and oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources for all MEP-related activities.
• Design and coordination: Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate MEP systems into the overall project plan and review designs for compliance and efficiency.
• Subcontractor and vendor management: Select, onboard, and manage MEP subcontractors and vendors, including managing the tendering process.
• 
  Site supervision and quality control: Monitor site construction activities to ensure the work is completed according to design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Budget and cost management: Estimate costs for materials, labor, and equipment, track expenditures, and ensure the project stays within budget.
• Communication and reporting: Act as a central point of contact, facilitate communication between clients, contractors, and team members, and provide regular progress reports.
• Problem-solving: Address technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and find solutions to ensure project milestones are met.

Key qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field is typically required.
• Experience: Significant experience in MEP project management or a related construction field is essential.
• Technical skills: Proficiency with MEP systems, relevant building codes, safety regulations, and project management software like AutoCAD and Revit is necessary.
• Soft skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in managing teams and stakeholders.
• Certifications: A PMP certification or other project management qualifications can be a plus.
