Senior Network Security Engineer

Job Title: Network Security Engineer (L2) - Palo Alto/Check Point Firewalls

Job Responsibilities:

• Firewall Architecture & Configuration:
• Understand the architecture and components of Palo Alto Networks Firewalls or Check Point Firewalls.
• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to protect the organizations network infrastructure effectively.
• Policy Configuration & Optimization:
• Configure and optimize firewall policies to ensure alignment with the organizations security requirements and best practices.
• Monitor and adjust policies based on emerging threats and changes in network architecture.
• Network Threat Prevention:
• Utilize network threat prevention features to proactively safeguard the environment from emerging threats.
• Troubleshoot issues related to firewalls, network security, and other related components.
• Change Request & Incident Management:
• Validate Change Request Forms raised by Level 1 resources.
• Perform major configuration changes, Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, and have these validated by the team lead or OEM support.
• Monitor and manage incidents with respect to Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) solutions.
• 
  Endpoint Protection & Email Security:
• Perform monitoring of endpoint protection and email security dashboards.
• Conduct risk analysis, submit daily risk profile reports, and participate in change management and incident management activities.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security incidents and improve firewall infrastructure.
• Ensure clear documentation of processes, configurations, and incident resolutions.

• Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Networking Fundamentals:
• Strong knowledge of MPLS, VRF, VPN, and network routing protocols.
• TCP/IP Expertise:
• In-depth understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols, with practical experience in working with Internet technologies.

• Proven experience in firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting, with a focus on threat detection and incident response.
• Firewall Solutions:
• Hands-on experience in the architecture and components of Palo Alto Networks Firewalls or Check Point Firewalls.
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment to achieve organizational security objectives.

• Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (preferred).
• Industry certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) are a plus.
• At least 3-5 years of experience working with firewalls, network security, and incident management.
