The Senior Director, Group US Reporting will report to the Senior Vice President of Finance and will have primary responsibility for all aspects of external reporting for the Group’s global operations in the USA. This includes all elements of the end-to-end process to ensure compliance with US GAAP and, potentially in time, US public reporting requirements including periodic filings to the SEC. This will include supporting the monthly transition from the Group’s underlying IFRS prepared financial statements to US GAAP. The position will also be responsible for the annual US GAAP audits.
The position will also in time potentially manage the financial consolidation team and hence strong people management skills are essential. In addition, the job holder will be expected to develop strong working relationships with the business and other back-office departments.
This role involves interface on a day-to-day basis with the Senior Vice President Finance; the CFO; the Group Financial Controller; the Senior Director of Financial Reporting; and other global finance departments as required.
What You Will Do
- End to End U.S. GAAP accounting
- Lead the conversion of IFRS results into to US GAAP
- Support monthly end to end process to convert IFRS financial statements to US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements
- Own implementation and ongoing performance of US GAAP accounting policies, processes, and relevant controls
- Ownership of completeness and accuracy of US GAAP financial records on a timely basis
- Assist as required in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for presentation to the SMT and separately the Board
- US GAAP Reporting
- Take the lead role in preparing US GAAP financial statements
- Lead in preparation of periodic SEC type filings, including for example 10-Qs and 10-Ks
- Ensure compliance with all US GAAP rules and regulations
- Accounting Operations
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP close processes to strict close deadlines
- Drive a continuous improvement approach to develop strategies to improve US GAAP accounting operations efficiencies, effectiveness, and scalability, including the development and execution of policy, process, and system changes
- Serve as the day-to-day lead for the annual US GAAP financial statement audits
- Partnering
- Support the Global CFO Team as required
- Partner cross-functionally with IT, Tax, Legal, HR and FP&A to execute strategic initiatives
- Work closely with the rest of the Financial Control Team, Investor Relations, and the FP&A team to support activities around a potential IPO
- Other
- Future potential to support, as required, inaugural SOX 404 compliance including risk assessment and certification; manage ongoing internal controls over financial reporting
- Support and guide the wider finance team on accounting and reporting matters as required; including full responsibility for both IFRS GAAP and US GAAP technical guidance to the full CFO global team
- Assist in adhoc reporting activities as required
- Work with the finance IT team to ensure all specifications for changes and enhancements to finance systems are robust and the impact on users has been considered. Ensure UAT performed by the finance team is of a high standard and that the roll out of changes to the live environment is successful
- Responsible for ensuring that the needs for systems improvements and process changes are properly reported through to the IT team
- Manage team and individual performance and productivity. Regularly evaluate individual employee job performance through 1 on 1 meetings, providing constructive suggestions for improvement and rewarding accomplishments.
- Ensure that formal staff performance reviews for all team members are conducted on a biannual basis with supplementary reviews, including the talent audits, as required (including direct and indirect reports).
- Identify the future needs of the group and department and ensure that individuals receive the development and coaching they need, identifying and addressing poor performance and attendance
- Essential
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Prior experience as controller or assistant controller in growing, IT security, or global software/SAAS company .

- Experience in a large public accounting firm and/or a public company required
- Experience with US and IFRS GAAP and ability to analyse and support conversion between US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
- Strong accounting background with a thorough knowledge of IFRS GAAP, US GAAP and SEC reporting standards
- Understanding of IFRS accounting practices
- Regulatory and compliance matters from a financial perspective
- Working with external auditors and tax advisors
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Looking for candidates in Ahmedabad or nearby locations.
- Candidate would be working in UK shifts.

- SEC Reporting experience
- Working within a software or technology company, ideally a global organisation
- Gujarat based location preferred
- Experience with SAP and other systems (or similar) within finance stack (Snowflake, BPC) is very helpful.
