Procurement Director, Wind - MENA

The Procurement Director MENA will lead regional procurement strategy and execution across the Middle East and North Africa, with responsibility for category procurement, supplier performance, and commercial value delivery for large-scale renewable energy projects. The role will drive standardised processes, governance, and cost optimisation while partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and own the regional procurement strategy for the MENA region, aligned with global procurement and business objectives.
• Lead category procurement across key spend areas (e.g. equipment, services, EPC, logistics, indirects), ensuring competitive sourcing and long-term value.
  
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing regional procurement team, setting clear KPIs, priorities, and development plans.
• Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance management, SRM frameworks, and regular business reviews.
• Lead major negotiations and contracting activities to secure best-value commercial and contractual terms while managing risk.
• Implement and continuously improve procurement policies, processes, and systems to ensure governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Conduct structured market analysis across MENA to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform category and sourcing strategies.
• Partner with project, engineering, finance, legal, and operations teams to support project delivery, from early planning through execution.
• Drive cost-saving, value-engineering, and supplier-consolidation initiatives, tracking and reporting on savings and performance.
• Ensure adherence to ethical sourcing standards, ESG expectations, and company code of conduct across all procurement activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related discipline; a master's degree or professional certifications (e.g. CIPS) are an advantage.

• 1015+ years of progressive procurement experience, including significant leadership responsibility, ideally in the Wind or Energy Sectors.
• Proven experience managing procurement across the MENA region, with strong understanding of local supplier markets, regulations, and cultural nuances.
• Demonstrated success in category management, strategic sourcing, and complex contract negotiations at regional scale.
• Strong track record in building and leading teams, driving performance, and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, matrixed organisation.
• Fluent in English. Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to travel within the MENA region as required.
