Job Description
- As the Team Lead (Editorial Board Resourcing) at Springer Nature Technology and Publishing Solutions, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated team that supports the recruitment of manuscript-handling external editors to a portfolio of related journals at Springer Nature. Working closely with Publishing Directors, journal publishing teams, and Editors-in-Chief (EiCs), you will implement robust and scalable processes to assess recruitment needs and identify potential candidates for recruitment on priority journals. Your team will also be responsible for developing best-practice resources to support publishing colleagues with editorial board recruitment.
Your key responsibilities will include team management, ensuring effective deployment of team resources, recruiting, training, and managing a high-performing team, driving recruitment priorities, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the Editorial Board Resourcing team. You will also work with the Head of Editor Resourcing to develop editorial board recruitment strategy, deliver and implement the strategy, and provide monthly reporting on recruitment team progress against KPIs within the journal portfolio.
Additionally, you will support Editorial board recruitment on a limited number of journals by assessing recruitment needs, developing specific recommendations, managing data, and analyzing information. You will engage external Editors-in-Chief and internal publisher teams with the recruitment process, ensuring clear communication of goals and processes to all parties involved.
Key Relationships:
- Reports to the Head of Editor Resourcing
- Manages a team of Editorial Board Resourcing Associates/Specialists
- Collaborates with the Reviewer Engagement Manager, Editorial Engagement team, Editor support team, Publishing Directors, EiCs, publishing teams, and Business intelligence team
