Project Manager

Job Summary
Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering the project from the stages of presales to delivery. Supervises the administration of budgets and schedules, reports progress, and initiates action to assure program/project objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budget and according to specifications. Resolves problems and coordinates the final turnover of the project to the customer. Provides leadership for a high-performance project team. Has overall responsibility for the compliance organizations execution, ensuring that project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety and to Customer and SPX flow expectations.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Give technical support to sales departments at the preorder stage on discrete numbers & creating new part codes.
• Releases BOM for configured models in SAP.
• In case of ETO orders, the order/project engineer coordinates all aspects of project, sets deadlines, assigns tasks and monitors and summarizes progress of projects, this within a matrix organization where the Global Manufacturing Organization (GMO) holds the final responsibilities for procurement and manufacturing progress.
• Provide clear vision, co-ordinate all project activities within project scope. Overall responsible for end-to-end project from kick off meeting to dispatch of materials.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards
• Established alignment on key project issues with internal project stakeholders such as JP- management, business areas, operations, and functional managers. Proactively communicate with these stakeholders to maintain synergy
• Maintain a strong relationship with the external stakeholders such as client, consultants, vendors, and
  

subcontractors. Represent SPX Flow in meetings and correspondence with the Client at all levels.

• Ensure to develop and follow strategies lied out by higher management and get them implement to deliver the projects to cost, schedule, quality whilst minimizing the risks. Actively reviewing performance, and adapt strategies as required to keep the project on track.
• Monitoring production of engineering deliverables, progress of procurement and/or production activities against plan to ensure the project is executed as planned and within budget.
• Reviews and evaluates technical specifications for pumps and spares. Extracts applicable client requirements and translates / communicates specifications to subcontractors, vendors and internal organization.
• Give technical support to sales departments at the preorder stage on discrete numbers, creating new part codes and costing of pump for large order enquiry stage.
• Review order specific documentation requirements and agrees specific responsibilities and milestones for all concerned documents.
• Manage project documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Ensure that the actual technical standards (DIN, EN, ISO, API,DME-465,India naval standard for Indian Navy) and legal regulations (Machinery Directive, ATEX, CCOE, Food Contact Material Regulation) are applied throughout the department.
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be able to communicate (speak and write) with all levels within the organization in English, any other language is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience in Project Execution Plan development and implementation

  Knowledge and experience in contracts/subcontracts formulation, risk analysis, negotiations, and implementation
• Knowledge of cross functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially Project Controls, Supply Chain management, Quality management and the ability to manage the relationships/interfaces with management and functional groups
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Customer and results oriented with a pro-active & can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of drive systems for pumps (electric motors and gearboxes).
• A good knowledge of MS Office.
• Knowledge of actual technical standards (DIN, EN, ISO, API, etc.) and legal regulations.
• Any Project Management certification will be an added advantage.
  

Education And Experience

• Minimum bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with minimum 10 years of experience (Minimum 8 years of project management experience is must)
• PMP certificate is preferred but not mandatory.
