Senior Associate Valuations Control

Job Summary:**
The Senior Associate Valuations Control will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of valuations for a variety of financial instruments. This position involves performing independent valuations, conducting robust control checks, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Perform independent valuations of complex financial instruments, including but not limited to derivatives, illiquid securities, and private equity investments, utilizing various pricing methodologies and models.
- Implement and execute a comprehensive valuations control framework, including daily, weekly, and monthly checks on pricing sources, model inputs, and valuation outputs.
- Investigate and resolve valuation discrepancies and anomalies, escalating significant issues to management and relevant teams in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, risk management, operations, and external auditors to ensure accurate and consistent valuation practices.
- Develop and maintain robust documentation of valuation methodologies, control procedures, and issue resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of valuation processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency enhancements.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and accounting standards related to financial instrument valuation.
- Assist in the preparation of valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Train and mentor junior team members on valuation concepts and control procedures.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) is highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in valuations, financial reporting, risk management, or a related role within the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to various asset classes.

- Strong understanding of financial instruments, valuation methodologies (e.g., discounted cash flow, option pricing models, comparable analysis), and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with valuation software and market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professional integrity.
